Martial arts have been a part of my life since the age of 10. I trained Kung-Fu and Chinese Boxing. In my early 20’s, I wanted to approach a realistic fighting system and discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I received my BJJ black belt in 2013 by Master Mike Moses. That same year I started teaching at Soldierfit Martial Arts in Fredrick. I enjoy teaching students self-defense along with getting and staying in shape. Above all, I enjoy watching students do things they previously thought they could not do. Playing a part of that transformation is rewarding.

I started out wrestling my junior year of high school. The grind and obstacles I came across, lead me to learn different martial arts styles. I started training at Soldierfit Martial Arts where I got learn new styles that took my skills to the next level. The most powerful things martial arts taught me was that you need a team. You need someone to push you and make you learn from you mistakes. This made me want to teach. I want deliver the knowledge I've gained from my journey as a martial artist and watch them grow in their journey.

Started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Evolve Academy under Master Mike in 2007. I initially joined to get in shape and avoid the monotony of the typical gym workout. I not only found a way to increase my strength and endurance, but I also found an art that allowed me to be creative and develop a skill set to protect my family and myself. My goal as an instructor is to share the technical skills I have learned, but more importantly, to help enrich students' lives through the character development that comes from training in such a positive environment.
